Information for Children and Young Persons

Children and young persons – Sunbeam Fostering North West

Welcome! This page and the website’s content are for children and young people supported by Sunbeam Fostering North West.

We want you to feel safe, happy, supported and know who to contact if you have any worries or concerns. You can contact our Registered Manager, Shams Zaidi, anytime with the email shamsz@sunbeamfosteringnorthwest.com

Your happiness and feeling safe

We have a Children’s Guide for you that provides information about your support, fostering, activities, and who you can speak to. We listen to all children and young people, and please don’t feel afraid or worried about sharing how you feel or asking any questions. We are here for you.

When you first arrive with your foster carer, they will aim to help you settle and feel welcomed. You have a dedicated Sunbeam Fostering North West social worker who will visit and spend time with you. They will talk with you about your future, feelings, education, health, hobbies and emotions.

Please see the link below to your Children’s Guide:

Activities and events

We really enjoy organising local events and fun activities so that you can have fun and be safe with others.

There are regular support groups across the year that bring children and young people together. There are also days out, trips, or events—for example, going to the local park, playing sports, having a picnic, visiting local museums, or just having fun with art classes or horse riding.

We also enjoy celebrating annual events together, including Eid celebrations, Diwali, Christmas, Easter, and summertime.

Please do speak to us about any ideas you may have for events! We also look forward to celebrating your birthdays and any other achievements!

Care Leavers

Sunbeam Fostering North West is proud to support our Care Leavers with their education, preparing for independence and career opportunities.

Your foster carers will support you and your social worker in discussing opportunities for employment, career development, and higher education.
