Fostering in Cheshire West

Fostering a child in Cheshire West
If you’re thinking of becoming a foster carer to a child in Cheshire, there’s never been a better time to take the leap.
Cheshire has a population of 756,000, as shown in the last census from 2021. As of March 2023, however, there were just 200 fostering households registered with the local authority, compared to 1,169 children desperately needing a home to call their own. 45% of children, therefore, were placed outside the Local Authority area, meaning that there’s a real shortage of carers in the local community.
